Disney announces 'Lost,' whole slate of new TV on DVD releases

Buena Vista Home Entertainment, the home entertainment arm of Walt Disney (and most shows on ABC), today announced their whole slate of DVD releases for the TV seasons that just ended this month. For the second year in a row, they also tried to spicen up their offerings with unique names for each DVD package.

Lost: Season Three - The Unexplored Experience will debut on December 11th due mainly in part to a switch in programming that will bring all 16 episodes of Season 4 in a row beginning in January or February 2008.

The seven disc set will continue to provide any Lost fanatic their fill with a one-on-one with star Matthew Fox, a feature on The Others, a documentary that shows 24 hours into the production of an episodes, a series of unseen flashbacks, behind the scenes looks at 10 episodes, deleted scenes, audio commentaries, and bloopers.

On September 4th, Desperate Housewives: The Complete Third Season - The Dirty Laundry Edition will bow in stores with a spanish audio track, a conversation with star Eva Longoria, several unaired storylines and deleted scenes.

September 11th follows with the Grey's Anatomy: Season 3 - Seriously Extended Edition. The seven disc set includes all 23 episodes, of which four have been extended exclusively for the DVD offering, a visit to the race track with McDreamy and audio commentaries.

Other shows hitting DVD include Ugly Betty: The Complete First Season - Bettyfied Edition on August 21st, Brothers & Sisters: The Complete First Season on September 18th, and What About Brian?: The Complete Series on September 25th.

Disney wasn't the only studio announcing TV on DVD dates this morning. Warner announced Supernatural: The Complete Second Season for September 11th and Smallville: The Complete Sixth Season for September 18th.

And finally, Paramount didn't want to left out of the fun with their announcements of Charmed: The Final Season for September 11th, Ghost Whisperer: The Complete Second Season for September 18th and South Park: The Complete Tenth Season for August 14th.
